Precision Surface Grinding: Okamoto ACC84GX Surface Grinder

Nov 03,2026

At Jetta, we use Precision Surface Grinding to finish flat parts for precision machining projects. The equipment shown is an Okamoto ACC84GX surface grinder with a table size of 450 × 150 × 300 mm and an accuracy of ±0.001 mm. The process is used for molds, automation parts, medical components, 3C electronics and other parts that need a flat, parallel surface. It is part of our precision parts machining service, which also includes CNC, mirror EDM and wire EDM.

What Precision Surface Grinding Does

A surface grinder removes a small amount of material with a rotating abrasive wheel. It is used when a part needs a flat face, a parallel face, a precise thickness or a fine surface finish. The process can correct the distortion left by milling or heat treatment. It can also produce a sharp edge or a precise slot on a hardened part. A flat surface also gives a stable base for the next operation.

The machine should be set for the wheel, the feed, the depth of cut and the coolant. A small depth of cut and a steady feed give a better finish and less heat. The operator should check the wheel balance and the table movement before the job. A worn wheel or a dirty coolant can mark the surface and change the size.

The Okamoto ACC84GX Machine

The ACC84GX is a high-precision surface grinder. The table size of 450 × 150 × 300 mm suits small and medium parts, and the accuracy of ±0.001 mm supports a tight tolerance. The machine is used for a finishing pass after the part has been milled or heat-treated. The buyer should confirm the part size, the material, the hardness and the tolerance before the job.

The wheel should match the material. A soft wheel cuts a hard steel with less burning, and a hard wheel holds its shape on a softer material. The coolant should reach the contact area and should be filtered. The chuck should be clean and the part should be fixed without distortion. A part that is clamped too hard can spring back after grinding.

Inspection and Quality Control

After grinding, the part should be checked for the thickness, the flatness, the parallelism and the surface finish. A micrometer, a height gauge or a CMM can be used for the size, and a surface comparator can be used for the finish. The buyer should confirm the inspection method and the acceptance limit. A part that is within size but not flat can still fail in assembly. A clean surface before measurement avoids a false reading.

The grinding room should be clean and the temperature should be stable for a tight tolerance. The machine should be warmed up before a precision job. The wheel should be dressed at the start and checked during the run. A record of the wheel, the parameters and the inspection result helps trace a problem if a part is out of tolerance.

Applications and Ordering

Precision Surface Grinding is used for mold plates, inserts, fixtures, automation parts, medical devices, electronic components and capacitor equipment. The process can be combined with CNC milling, EDM and wire EDM for a complete part. The buyer should provide the drawing, the material, the heat treatment, the tolerance and the quantity. A sample part can be ground and inspected before the batch.

Jetta also offers custom automation equipment, precision parts machining and sheet metal fabrication. A project can start from a drawing or a sample. The team can review the process route and confirm the grinding step, the inspection plan and the delivery schedule. A clear drawing helps avoid a tolerance that the process cannot hold.

To request a quotation, a sample or the current service list, contact Jetta at Ying.ma.maggie@gmail.com or +86-18259477167. Our team will review the drawing and confirm the available process, the lead time and the next steps for your project.

Precision Surface Grinding should be selected for the part size, the material and the tolerance. The Okamoto ACC84GX surface grinder at Jetta is used for flat, parallel and precise parts in molds, automation and medical projects. Please share your drawing and tolerance so that we can confirm the right process and support your next order.
